Carmine P. Errico, M.D., FACOG Dr. Errico is a graduate of Georgetown University Medical School, Washington, D.C. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at City Hospital (U.M.D.N.J.), Newark, N.J. He has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1971 and was recertified in 1978. He is a Board Certified Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He is a Fellow of the American Fertility Society, a Member of the New Jersey Obstetric and Gynecologic Society. He has served as President and Vice President, Medical Staff, member of the Board of Trustees, and Chairman, Department of OB/GYN, Somerset Medical Center.
Vincent F. Mileto, M.D., FACOG Dr. Mileto is a graduate of New York Medical College, New York, N.Y. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center, New York. He has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1981. He is a Board Certified Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He is a Member of the New Jersey Obstetric and Gynecologic Society. Dr. Mileto is a Fellow of the American Fertility Society and currently serves on the Quality Assurance Committee at St. Peter's University Hospital.
Jean Pineda, DO, FACOG Prior to joining SOGA, Dr. Pineda was a physician with Stewart Medical Associates in Yonkers, NY. Dr. Pineda received her Bachelor of Science at State University of New York at Binghamton in New York and her medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, NY. She is a board certified physician with the the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Pineda and her husband are the proud parents of Dylan Perry, born October 15, 2003.
Sambra Bernstein, MD, FACOG Dr. Sambra Bernstein joins our group after practicing solo for 10 years in Highland Park, NJ. Before that she was a Assistant Clinical Professor of OB/GYN at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
She received her medical degree at Universidad de Noreste in Mexico and completed her clinical training and Fifth Pathway through SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY. She received her residency training at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
She was Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1989 and recertified in 1999. Dr. Bernstein has privileges at three area hospitals - Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, St. Peter's University Hospital and Somerset Medical Center. She has specialized training in many aspects of gynecologic care and high-risk obstetrics.
She is fluent in Spanish and has basic conversational skills in French and Hebrew.
Ayanna Woltz, MD
Dr. Woltz has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ. She received her Doctor of Medicine in 1999 from UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Brunswick, NJ. She completed her residency program in July 2003 at the University of Connecticut, Farmington, CT.
Dr. Woltz as you will find, is a warm, caring and fun-loving individual. She is very competent and brings a highly professional level of care to our practice. She is a Junior Fellow of the American Collge of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Matilda Miranda, MD Please join Somerset OB/GYN Associates in welcoming our newest physician, Dr. Matilda Miranda. Dr. Miranda obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. She is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine where she received her Doctor of Medicine degree in June 2000. She completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY in June 2004. She is a Junior Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Miranda is a native of New Jersey and is happy to be returning home following her residency. She is a very pleasant and soft-spoken individual who brings a fresh and enthusiastic outlook to our practice and we are sure when you meet her you will find she is thoughtful and conscientious physician.

John T. Scully, MD, MD, FACOG Dr. Scully joined our practice after practicing solo in New Brunswick for many years. He is a board certified physician in obstetrics and gynecology and is concentrating his practice in office gynecology only. His degrees are from Georgetown University and the University of Mexico School of Medicine. He is affiliated with St. Peter's University Hospital.

"What is a nurse practitioner?" - Many patients ask "what is a nurse practitioner?" The role of the nurse practitioner has existed for more than 30 years. Nurse practitioners are advanced practice nurses with graduate education and are certified in specialty areas, such as OB/GYN. All nurse practitioners must be certified, through examination, by the State of NJ, and have prescriptive privileges. The Nurse Practitioners at Somerset OB/GYN Associates provide a wide variety of services such as physical examination, assessment and intervention. They care for women throughout their pregnancy and post partum. They do routine gynecological care as well as evaluate and treat issues, concerns and problems from adolescence through menopause and beyond. The SOGA Nurse Practitioners order and interpret diagnostic testing, manage birth control, infertility, sexually transmitted disease prevention/treatment, PMS, abnormal vaginal bleeding, breast problems, hormone replacement therapy, osteoporosis, sexuality, as well as health prevention. They are available every day, most evenings and Saturdays and cover all five locations.
Jody Darwick, MSN, RNC, CNP Ms. Darwick received her B.S.N. from Trenton State College. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in women's health care. A short time later she was certified as a registered OB/GYN nurse practitioner. Jody has extensive professional experience working with gynecology and infertility patients in private practice. She also has served as the assistant coordinator at the Englewood Hospital / Mt. Sinai Hospital In Vitro Fertilization Program. Jody sees both obstetric and gynecology patients, as well as patients with infertility concerns, independently on a regular basis, collaborating with the physicians when necessary. She is available some Saturdays, as well as during daytime office hours.
Christine Kurnath, CNP, RNC Ms. Kurnath received her B.S.N. and her M.S.N. from Seton Hall University. She has worked at Rutgers University on staff in College Health Services and at Drew University as Director of Health Services. Chris gained valuable experience as a Nurse Practitioner with several doctors in private OB/GYN practice and infertility, as well as conducting various continuing education seminars. As a Nurse Practitioner, Chris sees patients independently on a regular basis, collaborating with the physicians when necessary. She handles routine obstetrics, gynecological problems, contraception, infertility and nutrition counseling, performing complete examinations, including Pap smears, cultures, breast exams and pregnancy testing. New Jersey state law also allows Nurse Practitioners who are certified to prescribe medication. She is certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner by the N.J. State Board of Nursing and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She also maintains her CPR certification by the American Heart Association.
Michelle Liddy, CNM Michelle received her BSN from Rutgers University. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Master of Science in Nursing and specialized in Nurse/Midwifery. As a Nurse/Midwife, she is licensed to practice gynecology and antepartal care as well as intrapartal care. She has been a Certified Nurse-Midwife since 1996. Along with her busy schedule, she and her husband are raising two young daughters.
Her objective at Somerset OB-GYN Associates is to provide health care to women during childbearing years and beyond with an emphasis on health promotion and education.
